Game Story
Florida Demolished Prairie View Before Halftime Even Ended
Florida routed Prairie View A&M 114-55, turning the game into a 40-minute efficiency clinic built on a 40-point rebounding advantage and 64.7% shooting.
Rueben Chinyelu was the most unguardable player on the floor, finishing with 14 points and 13 rebounds in just 20 minutes on 6-of-9 shooting. Prairie View had no answer for his size in the post, and his presence on the glass -- Florida grabbed 54 total boards to Prairie View's 20 -- made every Florida miss a second-chance possession waiting to happen.
Boogie Fland was a different kind of problem: 16 points on 6-of-6 shooting, including 2-of-2 from three, in 25 minutes without a single missed field goal attempt. Thomas Haugh added 14 points and 7 assists, and Florida's 28-to-5 assist advantage tells you everything about how easily the Gators moved the ball against a defense that never found its footing.
Prairie View's shooting collapsed completely -- 24.6% from the field, 27.3% from three -- and with Marcel Bryant and Ryan Bolton Jr. both out, the Panthers were simply outmanned at every position. Florida's 60-point first half, against 21 for Prairie View, settled any lingering question about competitive range before the break.
