Game Story
Houston Dismantles A&M, Never Lets Them Breathe
Houston handled Texas A&M 88-57 behind a 19-rebound offensive effort that buried the Aggies before halftime.
Chris Cenac Jr. finished with 17 points and 9 rebounds, 3 of them on the offensive glass, and his interior presence was the game's most consistent problem for Texas A&M's defense. He shot 5-of-9 from the field and 7-of-8 from the line, punishing every soft close-out and scrambled rotation the Aggies threw at him.
Emanuel Sharp added 18 points in just 25 minutes, converting 6 of 7 free throws and providing the perimeter pressure that kept Texas A&M's defense stretched while Cenac did his work inside. Milos Uzan was less efficient at 6-of-17 from the field, but his 4 assists and 15 points kept Houston's offense organized through its various ball-handlers.
Houston won the rebounding battle 46-29, and the 19 offensive boards tell the story more than any other number -- second-chance points became the engine that turned a competitive first half into a 31-point blowout. Texas A&M was already without Mackenzie Mgbako (foot), whose 8.9 points per game were a significant hole in a rotation that managed just 18-of-52 shooting and could not absorb the repeated possessions Houston kept manufacturing.
